Parents & Driving Schools Must Work Together To Save Lives
The driving Test has been improved and extended. The theory test has been computerised with the hazard perception claiming to be the way to reduce casualties. However the collisions over the last 5 years have went up (statistics) and our young drivers are still seven times more likely to be involved in an accident than other drivers.
After meeting the new Minister Edwin Poots 21 .09.2009 which involved discussing the graduated driving licence. I am convinced he will take action however until a more graduated approach to learning to drive is accepted as the way forward and legislation is achieved. Driving schools need to try and offer a graduated approach by working with parents. It estimated that up to 30 fatalities can be avoided per /year by implementing a graduated approach to driving.
To encourage Students and parents to work together in Northern Ireland I have created a package if adhered to will hopefully save lives, reduce costs and introduce the students to advanced driving. This package is available to every Learner Driver in Northern Ireland however the students preferred driving school will have to agreed that they want to participate check first. - Cheap Learner Insurance that is a month at a time so parents can practice with no worries of any mishap affecting their own insurance. (Improve Confidence & Experience & save at least 10 lessons) students who take insurance for two consecutive months currently will have a reduction on the second month of between £20-£25.
- Free Advanced Driving Lesson covering night driving & Motorways. Reduce the risk of accidents due to experience. Most accidents with new drivers occur in the evening.
